Is the Jeti system capable of doing the same thing?

Yes, the DC16 or DS16 can both speak the telemetry data and status messages

These data is used for telemetry and can be spoken as well as logged:
* Voltage [V]
* Current [A]
* Capacity [Ah]
* Altitude [m]
* Compass [°]
* Sats
* Speed [m/s]
* Distance [m]
* Home-Dir [°]
* max.Temp. [°C]
* Magn.field [%]
* Vario [m/s]
* ErrorCode

Also the telemetry can be placed on the LCD - you can select which data you want to place on which page.

Also the DC-16 speaks the status messages like "GPS on", "Carefree off",...

Basically you have everything you need, but if I compare the MC-32 HoTT and the DC-16, the MC-32 has still some small advantages:

MC-32 HoTT
- [=] 16 Channels
- [+]36 spoken status messages
- [+] one LCD with all MK-Data compressed - including the characters for altitude control "+" "-" "="
- [+] you don't have to press any buttons after switching on the Transmitter - it shows the MK-Telemetry after switching on
- [+] the resolution of the vario tone is a bit higher than in the DC-16
- [-] no teletry view as a graph in current firmware
- [+] 9 Potis - 3 'slider' - Potis

DC-16
- [=] 16 Channels
- [-] 26 spoken status messages (Some are missing: "Next Waypoint", "Landing", "Sinking", "Rising") - but don't worry, only the status words are missing that are not 'really' important
- [-] telemetry data of the MK on 3 screens - you might have to change the screen, but you can select what data is on which page
- [-] If you want to show the Text-LCD (Jetibox menu), you must press some buttons, but there you can find the characters for altitude control "+" "-" "=" and the main MK-Data
- [-] 4 Potis - no 'slider' - Potis
- [+] You can load your own Speech-files
- [+] teletry view as a graph
- [+] the price of the DC-16 is less compared to the MC-32

No question, both transmitters are great and I am happy with both of them.
I personally prefer the MC-32 but I am used to it since 2 years.

Holger
